After a pretty cool start to the spring, I’m happy to see that the sun shines more often and we can expect some warmer days ahead, so we can get outside and move some of our in-house projects that require a lot of physical input.

As usual, our luck at choosing suitable volunteers for each part of the year has attracted some interesting players and we are now in the process of finishing our famous ‘Nature pond’ project, which was actually started in 2016. Luckily, one of the students who arrived to participate in our yearly 3 month City & Guilds Community Development course running from Mid march until Mid June, is a young, strong and healthy English guy who is no stranger to the shovel and barrow. Jake Mott from London has kindly volunteered to lead the team this spring time and finish the pond project before the summer heat stops work, so we’re very excited to see if we can get this wonderful project into action during the next couple of months.

Our other major in-house project, the ‘Eco-wagon’, being built by superstar builder / Carpenter Dorus Rijkers, is looking more beautiful every day and also has a great possibility to be completed this summer, when it will serve as a perfect small scale model for sustainable living practices.
