After a very active October, it looks like we’ll be engaged in more progressive activities during November this year, as our list of priority projects continues to expand exponentially.

Yet again, the Casita Verde home team have passed all expectations with respect to our new symphony of ‘Synergy into action‘ and are heading towards an inspirational and successful period of evolution for the whole Greenheart Ibiza organisation.

On Thursday the 27th of October, we had a very successful international celebration, together with the Ibiza2love team, lead by Dieke Straathof, originally from Holland (see / Around 250 people attended the event, which was the second Ibiza2love celebration in our little ecology centre during 2016. All proceeds from the event were donated to finance the new Casita Verde project now being established in Granada, next to the tiny village of ‘Sal Eres’ in the beautiful valley of Lecrín, (between Granada city and the coast), and directed by Rey Aldana (El Cubanito).

Last month, we also cleaned up several beaches during our Wednesday ‘Ibiza Limpia’ activities, but mainly concentrated our efforts on finishing our seemingly endless task of returning the rocky beach in front of Ses Variades, (next to Cafe del Mar / Cafe Mambo in San Antonio), to resemble a piece of coastline, instead of a carpet of broken glass, discarded bottle tops and empty laughing gas cylinders. During one of our cleaning sessions, we even had the African beach sellers out there with buckets and litter pickers – a big triumph for our already famous Ibiza clean-up programme!

We’ve also made quite an elaborate programme of events to celebrate the ‘Let’s Clean up Europe’ week of activities aimed at waste reduction. See To begin with, we plan to clean the whole of Cami Des Fornas, on Wednesday 23rd of November, beginning at 11am in Casita Verde and followed by a picnic lunch of pizzas and Aloe drinks etc for those who participate.

On Thursday evening 24th of November at 7pm in Casita Verde, we will show the movie ‘Inside the Garbage of the World’, in English language, followed by our usual tasty dinner around 9pm and a talk about waste reduction, before we continue with our usual weekly celebration until just before midnight.

On Saturday 26th of November, we will make a full clean-up of the area around the Forada market , then make a recycling workshop for children and adults from 13.30 until 14.00h

On Sunday the 27th of November, there will be a special event at Casita Verde, where visitors are invited to bring three used or unwanted objects in good condition and swap them for three different ones, brought by other visiting members. At 16:00, there will be a presentation of the newly formed NGO ‘Ibiza Limpia’, who will also hand our free re-usable yellow polyester bags with our logo, for those who like to help keep the island free from litter.

Finally, we would like to invite all our members to the 21st General Assembly for the NGO Ibiza Ecologic, due to take place at Casita Verde between 7pm and 9pm on Thursday the 17th of November. All those who are registered as members of the Association Ibiza Ecologic – (Casita Verde), are invited to join for this meeting, but we would very much appreciate a confirmation by email or telephone, so we can arrange to have enough space and seating for our invited guests. After the meeting, there will be the usual Thursday evening celebration and fund raising event for our next Casita Verde project in Granada, which still needs more economic help to get started.

As the Thursday fund-raising events have now taken a permanent position in the weekly programme from our Ibiza Ecologic group here on the island, we look forwards to seeing many more of our members joining these networking evenings throughout the winter months.

Don’t forget, that if you have any questions about alternative lifestyle techniques, or want to know how you can be a more eco-conscious citizen, please come and see us on Sundays, or Thursdays at Casita Verde, Saturdays at the Local products market in Forada, or participate in our weekly cleaning events with Ibiza Limpia.
