Hooray, that’s the end of the summer! And now for some even more serious fun, as we begin our autumn and winter programme at Casita Verde.
With everything in our little paradise looking very green and shiny again, we’re ready to begin some of our more adventurous and immersive projects, such as developing the ’Ibiza Fènix’ NGO and innovative new Eco Tourism offer, registering a new NGO for the rapidly expanding ‘Ibiza Limpia’ campaign and continuing to work on our on-line local products recipe guide, connected to the Greenheart Guide of local eco groups businesses and services.
We also have some ideas to re-initiate the visionary ‘Ibiza Ecolandia‘ project, originally designed in 1999 and supported by the ‘Foundation for the Future’ during 2001, the same year as we invented the now famous ‘Greenheart logo’ and emblem of the Chicago based global Greenheart International movement. Many things have changed in Ibiza and in the rest of the world since the Ecolandia project was first invented, but the basic concept of making a trendy and educational Commercial Ecological Centre remains the same.
The original plan contained a viewpoint eco-restaurant, a natural health centre, with a natural pool and outdoor gymnasium, a Permaculture centre, an alternative energy centre, an investigation centre, an exhibition centre, an Ibicenco culture centre, some ecological supermarkets and artisan markets, children’s education and entertainment centre, eco food and medicinal plant cultivations.
A more modern version of the project could also include such things as an underground disco, with the latest sustainable dance floor technology and healthy drinks, a mini golf course, using recycled water from the other installations, plus a whole variety of ‘state of the art attractions’, which will encourage visitors to be more conscious of our natural environment and therefore more able to take better care of it.
With the recent and very welcome changes in local government thinking, we believe that Ibiza could soon become a kind of showcase of sustainable business practices, capable of demonstrating to the rest of the world, how a famous international playground with a ‘non stop party reputation’ could evolve into a world leader for ecological and social development.
We’re sure that there will be some interesting conversations and positive developments happening on our little Mediterranean island during the coming months and must admit that we are very excited to be a part of this timely revolution.
Meanwhile, we’ll be making some interesting events, which will join different groups of enlightened people, who are involved in social, environmental and spiritual evolution. For example, on Sunday the 30th of October at Casita Verde, we will celebrate the second Ibiza2Love festival, from 14.00 until midnight. This multidimensional event, will hopefully serve to raise consciousness and join many people in our communal efforts to make our world a more loving and peaceful place to live in. Don’t forget, that if you have any questions about alternative lifestyle techniques, or want to know how you can be a more eco-conscious citizen, please come and see us on Sundays, or Thursdays at Casita Verde, Saturdays at the Local products market in Forada, or participate in our weekly cleaning events with Ibiza Limpia.
